BLAINE RADCLIFFE
1949 - 2003
Blaine Radcliffe, beloved husband of Sandra Radcliffe of Taber, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home while surrounded by his family on Wednesday, April 30, 2003 at the age of 53 years.
Blaine was born on May 20, 1949 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, a son born to William (Bill) and June Radcliffe. He was raised and educated in Moose Jaw where he met Sandra Sharpe and they eventually married in Calgary in 1968. The couple lived in various towns and cities before venturing into the Dairy Queen franchise, which brought them to Taber. As a result Blaine was henceforth known as Mr. “D.Q.”. He was involved in different business ventures along the way, including Fas Gas and his most recently proudest accomplishment was Penner’s Mens & Ladies Wear. Blaine was a member of the Taber Kinsmen and K-40, drove ambulance and was a volunteer fireman. He was a people person with an outgoing personality who lived to socialize. His passion in life was his “47 Chevy”, but dearest to his heart was his family and grandchildren. Blaine will be remembered as kind and considerate of others.
He will be dearly missed by his wife Sandra and two daughters Pam (Paul) Turcato and their children Kristen and Tyler of Taber and Kerri (Shane) Collett and their sons Tyson and Cade of Medicine Hat; his parents Bill and June Radcliffe of Medicine Hat; his father and mother-in-law Ray and Muriel Sharpe of Regina, Saskatchewan; sister Donna Pohl of Red Deer; brother Grant (Angela) Radcliffe of Weyburn, Saskatchewan; sister-in-law Nancy (Dallace) Sharpe of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan; brother-in-law Ron (Rose) Sharpe of Regina, Saskatchewan and also by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Knox United Church, 4929 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Saturday, May 3, 2003 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Jim Lochhead officiating.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Blaine’s name may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 317-10th Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta T1J 2M7.
