WILLEMKE KLOK
1902 - 1999
Willemke Klok of Taber, beloved wife of the late Hendrik Klok, went home to be with the Lord, on Wednesday, January 6, 1999 at the age of 96 years.
Willemke was born in Holland on June 5, 1902. She married Hendrik Klok on April 21, 1922. In 1951, Willemke and Hendrik came to Canada settling near Taber. Two years later they purchased a farm in the Big Bend area, working the land before retiring to Taber in 1969. She was a founding member of The First Christian Reformed Church and remained active in the church for many years.
Willemke leaves to cherish her memory, her two daughters Geesje Rispens of Holland and Rika (Peter) Zuidof of Taber; six sons Jan (Gerrie) of Holland, Henry (Evelyn) of Vernon, British Columbia, John (Jewel) of Taber, Hank (Helen) of Taber, Bill (Jean) of Barnwell and Bob (Alice) of Calgary; thirty five grandchildren, fifty nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, January 8, 1999 from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.
The Interment Service took place at the Taber Memorial Garden on Saturday, January 9, 1999 at 1:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at the First Christian Reformed Church, 3902 Heritage Drive, Taber on Saturday, January 9, 1999 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Mike Vandyk officiating.
