DEANE THACKER

1931 - 1998

Deane Allan Thacker of Burdett, passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 1998 at the age of 67 years.
Deane leaves to cherish his memory, his close companion Bertha Sherring; three sons Garth (Roxie) Thacker of Burdett, Kevin Thacker of High River and Shawn (Sheri) Thacker of Burdett; two daughters Sandra (Ivan) Michalezki of Burdett and Kelly (Gary) Bitz of Strathmore; seventeen grandchildren, two great granddaughters; one sister May Weatherhead of Burdett; a sister-in-law Edie Thacker of Bow Island as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Deane was predeceased by his beloved wife Joan on July 27, 1986, his parents George and Bertha Thacker; three brothers George Thacker, Herb Thacker and Ted Thacker; a brother-in-law Clarence Weatherhead and sister-in-law Madeline Thacker.
Deane was born and raised on the Family Farm located one mile North of Burdett. He attended school locally and married Joan Haynes from Taber in 1952. He continued to farm until his retirement in June of 1998 at which time he made his residence in Lethbridge.
The Funeral Service was held at St. Andrew’s United Church, 139 - 2 Avenue West, Bow Island on Saturday, November 14, 1998 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Jeff Crittenden officiating. Interment followed at the Burdett Cemetery.
