LARRY CARSWELL
1933 - 1998
Larry Carswell, beloved husband of Elaine Carswell of Spruce Grove passed away in Stony Plain on Tuesday, March 31, 1998 at the age of 64 years.
Larry was born at Harris, Saskatchewan on August 22, 1933 and moved to Hays to farm in 1954. On December 7, 1957 he married Elaine Larson and in 1972 they moved into Taber. Larry was the custodian at Knox United Church in Taber from 1975 to 1981. They moved to an acreage in the Devon area in 1984 and then to Spruce Grove in 1992. Since 1986 Larry and Elaine have enjoyed the winters they spent in Arizona.
Besides Elaine, his beloved wife of forty years, he is survived by a son Nelson (Penny) Carswell and their children Chelsey, Kimberlee, Jadyn and Jared all of Airdrie; a son Kevin (Cindy) Carswell and their children Tamara, Brant, Shayna and Alicia of Ft. Assiniboine and a daughter Kaireen (Ed) Emond and their sons Brendan, Brady and Brett of Swan Hills; two sisters Iona DeBow of Victoria, British Columbia and Dot (Earl) Schmitt of Edson; father-in-law Arthur Larson of Taber and also by several nieces, nephews and in-laws.
He was predeceased by his parents Alex & Lillian Carswell, brothers Nelson, Ernie and Lorne (Tom); sisters Myrtle McGrath, Lorna McFarlane and Gert Trask; nephew Kelly Schmitt and mother-in-law Erlene Larson.
The Funeral Service was held at the Knox United Church, 4929 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Saturday, April 4, 1998 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Ken Crassweller officiating. Interment followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.
