1913 - 1998

John Wayne Ingram, beloved husband of the late Pontie Ingram, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, March 7, 1998 at the age of 84 years.
Wayne was born on May 14, 1913 near Wrentham and was the son of Arthur and Anna Ingram. On November 13, 1938 he married Pontie Harbinson. He attended the School of Engineering earning his diploma as a Diesel Engineer in Los Angeles. They had farmed in the Fincastle and Wrentham areas before retiring to Taber in 1967. Wayne’s dedication and devotion to the construction and continuance of the Taber Church of Christ was a priority of his life.
Wayne is survived by his children Gerald (Beth) Ingram of Taber, Arthur (Lyn) Ingram of Wrentham, Ruby (Norm) Marose of Taber, Janyce (Frank) Eldridge of Taber, Bruce (Karen) Ingram of Taber and Sherris (Gord) Henley of Lethbridge; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; a sister Ruth Greeno as well as many other relatives in the United States.
Wayne was predeceased by his wife Pontie in 1997; a brother Graydon and a brother-in-law Chester Greeno.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, March 11, 1998 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at Knox United Church, 4929 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, March 12, 1998 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Jim Chapman officiating. Interment followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.
