HERB ENGLESON

1927 - 2011

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Herbert Engleson, beloved husband of Toots Engleson in Taber on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at the age of 83 years.
The Funeral Service will be held at Knox United Church, 4929 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Arij Langstraat officiating.
Besides his loving wife Toots, he is survived by his children Dale Engleson of Birch Hills, Saskatchewan, Danny Engleson (Bert Kaga) of Lethbridge and Donna (Gerry) Clewes of Lethbridge; grandchildren Kory Engleson, Kara Anderson and Kristi (Darcy) Jensen and their family Jayce, Taia and Tage Jensen; brother Peter (Dickie) Engleson.
He was predeceased by his granddaughter Jennifer Anne Clewes; brothers Ben Engleson and George Engleson; sisters Buehla, Augusta and Gertrude Engleson.
Herbert was born in Taber on August 28, 1927 to Peter and Nelly Engleson (nee Anthony). He was raised and educated in Taber where he has resided until the time of his passing. He married Wanda “Toots” VanCleave on May 31, 1951. Together they raised their children on the family farm northeast of Taber. As a young man Herb took great pleasure in riding horses and working on the farm. He continued working on the farm even after handing over the operation to the third generation. After retiring from the farm Herb periodically operated a water truck in the oilfield industry. With retirement, Herb’s love of riding and horses flourished. The last several years of his life were spent in the Clearview Lodge where he enjoyed frequent visits from Toots, his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
