1930 - 2011

Evelyn Louise Frey passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at the age of 80 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Monday, May 30, 2011 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M. and also at the church prior to the funeral service on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 between 10:00 A.M. and 10:40 A.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Barnwell on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. with Bishop Dr. Tyler Johnson conducting. Burial to follow at the Taber Memorial Garden.
Evelyn is survived by her children Rick Souther (Chelsey Daub) of Taber, Diana (Harvey) Weimer of Worsley, Ron (Louise) Souther of Taber, Kim (Mike) Tremblay of Lethbridge; son-in-law John Ward of Lethbridge; sixteen grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law Betty Coreman and Blanche Coreman; beloved companion Cliff Damberger; former daughter-in-law Yvonne Phillips and by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Wendell Frey; daughter Patricia Ward; grandson Christopher Souther; great granddaughter Atlanta Moulton; parents Elizabeth (nee Sykes) & Henry Coreman; two brothers Fred Coreman and Hank Coreman; two sisters Mary Coreman and Caroline Coreman; two step brothers Bob Herdman and Herb Herdman.
Evelyn was born in Calgary on December 29, 1930 to Henry & Etta Coreman. Better known as “Abby”, she settled in Barnwell in 1969. She was very active in her community and even served a term on the Barnwell Village Council. Together with Wendell, they ran Taber’s first drinking water business. They sold the business in 1978 at which time she began working in reflexology which she continued to to until 2010 when she moved to Lethbridge. She will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends.
