Naomi Kimoto

1948 - 2017

Naomi Joy Kimoto, passed away in Taber surrounded by her family on Monday, December 18, 2017 at the age of 69 years.

Left to mourn her passing are her stepsons Travis Janson of Drayton Valley, Randy (Nadawn) Janson of Crowsnest Pass and Brady Janson of Picture Butte; grandchildren Cohen, Shalayne, Aden-Lee and Matty. She is also survived by her father Michio Kimoto of Lethbridge; siblings Barb Bockman of Calgary, Richard (Maureen) Kimoto of Chemainus, British Columbia, David (Darlene) Kimoto of Taber, Beverly (Dan) Loose of Lethbridge, Alan Kimoto of Calgary and Michelle (Warren) Zeller of Lethbridge; nieces and nephews David (Amanda) Kimoto (their children Madison and Mitchell), Tracy (Jim) Bystom (their children Adriana and Meredith), Tammy (Scott) Reiling (their children Kyla and Eric), Jason (Thea) Loose (their children Kiyomi and Kaori), Aaron (Stephanie) Kimoto (their children Duncan and Katsumi), Derek (Tammy) Loose (their children Nevaeh and Taylin), Kimberley (Randy) Johnston (their children Victoria, Elizabeth and Lincoln), Ashley (Jeff) Davidson, Jared (Carly) Zeller and Shilo Zeller as well as many dear friends, especially Jan and Gladys.

She was predeceased by her mother Eileen Kimoto and sister Debbie Kimoto.

Naomi was born and raised in the Crowsnest Pass and taught school there for many years before moving to the Yukon where she finished her teaching career. She returned to southern Alberta in the fall of 2016 to be closer to her family and friends.

A private service was held.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Naomi’s name may be made directly to a charity of one’s choice.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at the Taber Health Centre and the Jack Ady Cancer Centre.
