Abigail Van Es

1997 - 2017

Abigail Greet Van Es, beloved daughter of Gerald and Renske Van Es, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the age of 20 years.

Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the Burdett Christian Reformed Church (from Highway 3 turn South on Range Road 121 for 21.2 Kilometres, then West at yield sign, Township Road 82 for 1.4 Kilometres) on Thursday, May 18, 2017 between 5:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. A private burial followed at the Highfield Cemetery.

The Funeral Service was held at the First Christian Reformed Church, 3902 Heritage Drive, Taber on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. 

Born January 5, 1997 in Bow Island to Gerald and Renske Van Es, she was the fifth of seven children Hannah, Joshua, Reeka, Marrit, then Abigail followed by Aaron and Katrina. 

From a very young age she developed a vibrant and unique personality. Abby loved and was loved fiercely, quick to tease and annoy her family and friends. She was passionate about cows, dirt biking, fishing, food, mechanics, classic cars, “need to know” facts of the day and gopher hunting. 

Abigail recently finished her diploma in Agriculture studies in plant and soil sciences. 

Our daughter and sister, Abby tragically passed away on May 13, 2017. We will always remember her bright and optimistic outlook on life, her willingness to lend a helping hand, and her beautiful everlasting smile. Abigail’s soul soared into the sky with a giggle and a laugh right into God’s open arms.
