Les Fekete

1935 - 2024

It is with deep sadness that the family of Leslie Fekete, announce his passing on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at the age of 88 years.

Leslie will be privately remembered by his family with a private burial at the Taber Memorial Garden.

Les will be greatly missed by his wife of 66 years, Ethel; children Linda (Arthur) Hashizume of Lethbridge and Marty (Janet) Fekete of Lethbridge; grandchildren Karissa, Blair, Chad (Prisca), Ryan (Rachel) and Jennifer; great grandchild Layla; sister Betty Kun.

He was predeceased by his parents Leslie Sr. and Mary Fekete; sister Mary Vik.

Les was raised on the farm and worked the land until it was sold in 1993. Shortly after moving to Town, he retired from his position as a grain buyer after working in the industry for over thirty years.

Les loved many sports and enjoyed success in the rodeo world, having won several silver buckles. Following back surgery he gave up swinging the rope and took to swinging the club. Golf was his great enjoyment. Then there was his curling, when his team won everything there was to win at the Taber open men's bonspiel. Wow what a weekend.

Les and Ethel enjoyed many trips with family and friends through western Canada and the United States. It was a great challenge to play new golf courses wherever they went. He especially loved the Arizona desert. They also had great fun travelling with their family to Hawaii, Florida and California as well as the annual trip to Fairmont.

As the song goes "Happy trails to you, until we meet again". Love ya.
