1929 - 2017

Ray Percy Edwards, beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother, passed away peacefully in Lethbridge on Friday, April 7, 2017 on his 88th birthday.

  Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at  the church prior to the funeral service on Monday, April 10, 2017 between 12:00 P.M. and 12:40 P.M.

 The Funeral Service was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 14 - 3 Avenue East, Barnwell on Monday, April 10, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. Burial followed at the Barnwell Cemetery. 

 Ray is survived by one son Lynn (Deb) Edwards of Bow Island (currently serving a church mission in Romania/Moldova), five daughters Cheryl (Gene) Collicutt of Cardston, Shauna (Randy) Leavitt of Lethbridge, Pam (John) Sullivan of Ogden, Utah, Denise (Rick) Curliss of Bow Island and Lori (Perry) Froc of Melfort, Saskatchewan; twenty eight grandchildren and fifty great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Shirley Clements of Barnwell, Caroline (Doug) Minion of Utah and Betty Joyce Lebaron of Utah, brother Clarence Edwards of Barnwell.

 He was predeceased by his wife Verla.

 Ray was born in Goulburn, New South Wales, Australia, the seventh of twelve children of Percy and Irene Edwards. He immigrated to Canada in 1951, marrying Verla Jensen in 1954 and together they raised their family in Barnwell. He spent over fifty years in scouting and served two missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Ray spent his life in service to his family, community and church.
