June Carswell

1929 - 2017

God’s Angels carried June Isabell Carswell home on Thursday, February 2, 2017.  She passed away peacefully at Linden View Care Centre in Taber with her son Buster Carswell by her side.  June lived a full life to the wonderful age of 87 years young.

Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.

The Funeral Service was held at Knox United Church, 4929 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. A private burial followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.

June is survived by her five devoted children Arnold (Jobie) Carswell of Calgary, Donna (Stuart) Orsten of Taber, Robert (Pauline) Carswell of Red Deer, Lillian (Norm) Michaelis of Airdrie and Buster (Audrey) Carswell of Taber. She was also surrounded by fourteen grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren

She was predeceased by her husband of fifty seven years Ernie Carswell and her son Edward Carswell in 2002.

June has enriched everyone’s lives with her three principles of life; Family, Friends and Faith. Her sense of humour and love of life was infectious to all who had the honour of her special company. June’s home had an open-door policy to all who knew her. No one ever left the Carswell home without having a meal. Mom’s favourite “Happy Place” was the cabin at Buster and Audrey’s home in Taber. It was a regular occasion to celebrate her birthdays there with her entire family sharing the celebration.

June loved gardening of all kinds, children of all ages, baking and canning, the many motorhome travels with Arnold and Jobie and cruising in her car with as many friends as she could stuff in.  Mom was very active in her United Church and the Royal Canadian Legion.

June’s proudest accomplishments were her family and friends. She will be greatly missed as she joins her loved ones in Heaven.  Mom will be remembered for her enduring love and the special moments she shared over her lifetime with all of us.

 Believe in Mom’s Angel Wings.
